Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in utility coordination, civil infrastructure, or transportation-related projects.
  • Deep knowledge of utility relocation practices, permitting processes, and construction sequencing for major transportation or transit initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface confidently with utility providers, engineers, and field personnel.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, utility records, and technical documentation.
  • Experience navigating local codes, ordinances, and regulatory requirements related to utility infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with engineering software and project management tools.
Responsibilities
  • Drive the coordination of utility relocation and adjustment strategies to support the successful execution of a large-scale rail infrastructure project.
  • Serve as the central point of contact between utility companies, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to align timelines, resolve conflicts, and keep utility work on track.
  • Lead discussions with utility providers to troubleshoot issues, secure approvals, and streamline permitting.
  • Interpret and review complex engineering plans, specifications, and relocation designs to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively identify potential utility conflicts with proposed infrastructure and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Facilitate and lead recurring coordination meetings, maintaining clear documentation such as relocation schedules, technical reports, and meeting summaries.
  • Monitor progress of utility-related activities to ensure milestones are met, budgets are maintained, and risks are managed.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentoring to project team members on all utility-related matters.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices impacting utility engineering in major transit projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with large-scale rail or transit projects is highly preferred.
