  • A four-year college degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Construction/Project Management, Planning, Facilities Management, or a related area, or 11–14 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Seven to ten years of project management and coordination experience in Move/Relocation Management, Project Management, Interior Design, Facilities Management, or Furniture, Fixture and Equipment coordination/procurement; 11–14 years is required in lieu of a four-year college degree.
  • Ability to read architectural and furniture drawings.
  • Knowledge of furniture and equipment specifications and procurement.
  • Flexibility to work at any of the LACCD colleges and site locations.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam software.
Responsibilities
  • Manage required Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment for new, renovated, and swing-space projects, including programming, specification, drawing review, budget tracking, procurement coordination, construction-team scheduling, installation, and punch-list activities.
  • Manage moves for projects, including move-scope creation, bid solicitation, bid analysis, budget tracking, move coordination and scheduling, on-site move oversight, and punch-list activities.
  • Provide strategic oversight of FF&E programming, budgeting, quotes, procurement, scheduling, installation, pre-move, move, post-move, and close-out activities for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to manage FF&E purchasing using best-value or low-bid public contracting.
  • Work with the College Project Director, Project Architects, Relocation Project Management team, and Building User Groups to identify project scope, budget, schedule, and FF&E requirements.
  • Tour college sites to gain knowledge of the master plan for new and renovated buildings and project sequencing.
  • Identify required swing space and coordinate with the college to secure space and remove it from availability according to the project schedule.
  • Work with the College Project Director to develop scopes of work for construction or FF&E required for swing space.
  • Assess whether existing furniture and equipment will be relocated and reused.
  • Create FF&E budgets and validate budgets at key project milestones.
  • Attend weekly project meetings and coordinate accurate FF&E specifications, furniture layouts, and FF&E lists for new and reused furniture.
  • Review programming, design, and construction documents and coordinate electrical, data, infrastructure, utility, and anchoring requirements among FF&E vendors.
  • Plan relocation of existing furniture and equipment with Building User Groups.
  • Coordinate IT equipment budgets, scope, procurement, and installation with the Technology Project Manager, including identifying computer, multifunction device, and printer locations on plans.
  • Ensure FF&E and move budgets and schedules are met, and perform value engineering as needed.
  • Coordinate logistics for timely FF&E delivery, installation, punch-list sign-off, and transitions during swing-space, relocation, and move-in projects.
  • Coordinate specialty contractors and movers for delivery, installation, or connections not covered by FF&E vendors.
  • Coordinate FF&E deliveries, paths of travel, and parking with project managers, College Project Directors, contractors, Facility Directors, the Sheriff, and Building User Groups as applicable.
  • Coordinate asset tagging of new FF&E and disposition of surplus FF&E with the Asset Management Team before demolition or renovation.
  • Arrange unlocking and re-securing of areas requiring access by furniture installers and movers during pre-move, move, installation, post-move, and close-out phases.
  • Coordinate transfer of FF&E keys and keying plans to campus facilities upon occupancy.
  • Maintain FF&E, move-management, moving, and storage documents, including proposals, purchase orders, packing slips, timecards, shipping documents, freight bills, and invoices, and submit them to the College Project Director.
  • Coordinate FF&E and move-services project closeout.
  • Provide project status reports and other information requested by the Relocation Project Management team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Educational and public works experience.
  • Procurement, FF&E sourcing, or asset management experience.
  • Knowledge or proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Proficiency in Visio or design software.
  • Interior Design Certification CID or CCIDQ.
  • Membership with IIDA, AIA, or IFMA.
  • LEED certification.
