Job Summary:
The Pediatric Heart Institute Advanced Practice Team Leader has responsibility for administrative, clinical and human resource activities in conjunction with the Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants. This role includes clinical practice (60% of FTE), and administrative duties (40% of FTE), such as assisting with program development, personnel supervision, management (performance feedback, etc.), quality data and outcome-based performance initiatives. The role will focus on the pediatric cardiology inpatient, procedural Advanced Practice Providers. Leads advanced practice team, has direct reports, usually team size is less than 20 Advanced Practice Registered nurses and Physician Assistants.

Department Summary
The Pediatric Heart Institute Electrophysiology Program is part of comprehensive pediatric surgical and medical congenital heart service at Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital. The PHI performs around 500 cases per year. The APP will join a team of multi-disciplinary electrophysiology team consisting of physicians, APPs, and other disciplines that support the overall mission of comprehensive care for children with congenital heart disease.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Clinical expertise: Demonstrates experience and effectiveness as practicing clinician.
• Management experience: Demonstrates ability as an administrative liaison between the advanced practice provider team, the division/department. Assists in maintaining quality and regulatory standards. The advanced practice provider team leader will practice in an advanced role, coordinating the delivery of high quality, family centered and developmentally appropriate patient care.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care Certification, Dual Certification in Primary Care preferred or Physician Assistant
Prefer 2-3 years of Advanced Practice Experience in pediatric congenital heart experience.
