Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Working knowledge of programmable logic controller programming and controls hardware is required.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing, programmable logic controller programming, and robot programming is required.
  • Four to six years of related experience is required.
  • Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems is required.
  • Associate's or technical degree and four to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination, is preferred.
  • Production manufacturing experience in a regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to follow current Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures is required.
  • Ability to comply with the Code of Business Conduct, company policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations is required.
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, wet or humid conditions, heights, fumes or airborne particles, weather conditions, extreme cold, electrical shock risks, and very loud noise is required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain manufacturing equipment, including automated manufacturing systems, robotic materials-handling equipment, and production equipment.
  • Support plant utility systems, including water-for-injection, distilled water, steam, compressed air, reverse osmosis, and boiler systems.
  • Repair and maintain gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Use electrical schematics and applicable software for project wiring and termination.
  • Learn Siemens software troubleshooting techniques in collaboration with the software engineer.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain and program industrial robotics.
  • Work with advanced automated processes, assembly, and packaging systems.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair electromechanical equipment.
  • Rebuild and maintain equipment to meet production-output requirements.
  • Lead the repair, maintenance, and operation of utility, electrical, and mechanical systems as required.
  • Make recommendations for solutions when work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
  • Assist other technicians with support tasks requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
  • Communicate with production and maintenance supervisors or their designates to diagnose and correct equipment problems.
  • Escalate difficult or complex issues to the manager for resolution when necessary.
  • Assist with projects assigned by the manager.
  • Evaluate operations and suggest operational, design, or maintenance changes based on equipment performance and quality-assurance limits to maintain or increase manufacturing efficiency.
