Security Operations Manager

Role Overview

• As a Security Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing how the information security team responds to and manages incidents. Come put your knowledge to use training junior analysts, maturing the program, and planning how to support the business through years of growth. When not busy with incident response (it’s not so bad, really!) you can help with pen testing and security strategy. This is your chance to help shape a program that will continue to grow and have a large impact for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Leadership: Design, implement, and manage a team of incident responders who stay on top of the latest threats to our business.
• Incident Response: Oversee and participate in the incident response lifecycle, from detection and analysis to containment, eradication, and post-incident review.
• Endpoint Security: Manage the endpoint security tooling deployment and tuning.
• Metrics & Reporting: Develop, measure, and continuously improve internal security metrics to assess the effectiveness of security operations and seek improvements..
• Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate technical concepts and security strategies to technical teams, executive leadership, and other stakeholders.
• Penetration Testing: Execute internal penetration tests and mentor analysts learning how to perform testing. Oversee external penetration testing engagements.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading security operations, incident response, and basic digital forensics.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms.
• Familiarity with penetration testing methodologies and tools.
• Experience building and managing an on-call rotation.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud security concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain technical information to individuals in different departments, including executive leadership.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• You love learning and staying current with cybersecurity threats and technologies.
• You love supporting the team more than chasing your personal goals.
