The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant; Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant team at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah; a level I Trauma Center. This role is a key member of the multidisciplinary team committed to providing quality care to our patients.
This APP role is a full time position with a combination of in-patient and out-patient care.
About this role:
As an APP you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you will work closely with the surgeons and with their oversight, be responsible for seeing new patients, monitoring post operative and routine visit patients in a clinic setting at Intermountain Medical Center.
In addition:
You will be accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within your scope of practice. You will also be licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:
Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
Education of the patient, patient’s family, clinical staff, and others;
Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
Consultation with other healthcare providers;
Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.

What you’ll bring:
Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Cardiology, Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Vascular Surgery experience highly preferred.
New grads who have successfully completed a rotation in any of the above areas are welcome to apply.
Masters degree or higher.
Applicable certification from a recognized certifying organization such as the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
Applicable experience as defined by position leadership.

Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
