Requirements
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate across medical, mental health, and custody staff
  • Ability to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care to individuals with substance use disorders
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the Medication Assisted Treatment program including scheduling, medication administration, documentation, and coordination of care.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between medical staff, mental health providers, custody staff, and community partners to ensure a seamless MAT process.
  • Assist with program expansion, audits, and compliance reviews to meet National Committee for Quality Assurance Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) and Oregon state requirements.
  • Administer MAT medications (e.g., buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone) in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols.
  • Conduct intake screenings and assessments for MAT eligibility in collaboration with providers.
  • Provide education to individuals in custody on MAT, medication adherence, and recovery support.
  • Monitor and document patient response to medications, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
  • Coordinate discharge planning for MAT participants to ensure seamless continuity of care upon release.
  • Establish and maintain referral relationships with community MAT providers and recovery programs.
  • Ensure proper release-of-information and documentation are completed for continuity of treatment.
  • Train nursing staff in MAT-related protocols and support new staff in understanding MAT workflows.
  • Collaborate with the medical provider and site leadership to evaluate and improve MAT program delivery.
