Responsibilities
Shamrock Trading Corporation is seeking dynamic and ambitious students interested in pursuing a career in sales. This sales internship offers valuable insights into the transportation and finance industries, providing hands-on experience in a fast-paced sales environment. The role includes a structured rotation between RTS Carrier Services and RTS Financial, allowing interns to gain a comprehensive understanding of both sectors. It is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a passion for sales who is eager to learn and grow in a competitive business setting.
- Assist the sales team in retaining existing clients and identifying potential new business opportunities.
- Support the maintenance of strong client relationships through effective communication and timely assistance.
- Learn and execute processes from lead generation to qualifying and closing new accounts.
- Develop new business by managing an existing book-of-business and prospecting new leads.
- Sell and cross-sell the company’s value propositions to maximize profitability.
- Learn to effectively present and explain our financial products to clients, emphasizing their value.
- Assist in various product marketing activities, including the preparation of sales tools and competitive analysis.
- Help identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing client accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Communicate client needs clearly and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
- Participate in strategic planning, including corporate positioning, competitive analysis, customer segment selection, and penetration plans.
- Assess market potential, competitive pricing, and profitability for existing business models.
- Track and analyze metrics for all programs and activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Continually refine processes to maintain relevance in the industry and stay ahead of competitors.
- Ensure all required processes are used to maximize performance and achieve consistency with senior management’s strategies.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in business, sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, supply chain management, economics, or related fields with a desire to pursue a career in sales
- Expected graduation in December 2025 or May 2026.
- Internship runs 6/2/25 through 8/8/25.
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and driven to succeed in a competitive sales environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively.
- Critical thinking and negotiation skills, with a focus on achieving client satisfaction and business growth.
- Excellent time-management, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.); experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
Compensation
- Hourly Wage: Interns are paid an hourly wage of $20, with most interns working 40 hours per week. Individual compensation packages may reflect applicable experience, job-related skill, training and/or education.
