Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar degree is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience of surface water hydrology and collection system hydraulics.
  • Experience developing HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, and ICM.
  • 2D numerical modeling experience is required.
  • Project management experience, to include technical oversight and QA/QC experience.
  • Valid driver’s license is required for limited travel to client meetings.
  • Experience developing models for stormwater drainage infrastructure, BMP design, green infrastructure and LID projects, coastal flooding analyses, and dam safety projects.
Responsibilities
  • Typical projects include Rainfall-runoff models to support dam safety, climate resilience planning.
  • Evaluation of complex hydraulic settings, including combinations of open channel, piped infrastructure, rain-on-grade, and coastal flooding.
  • Reservoir mass balance modeling incorporated into innovative client/user interfaces.
  • Dam safety related projects such as design flood identification, dam rehabilitation alternatives analyses, breach analyses, and inundation mapping.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor less experienced project engineers and designers.
  • Support the evaluation, study, and design of stormwater systems for municipal clients, including providing stormwater master planning services and designs to support both flood mitigation and water quality improvements.
  • Provide field evaluation and assessment of existing stormwater infrastructure.
  • Support the design of green infrastructure and nature-based solutions for treatment of stormwater.
  • Conduct and coordinate analyses and computer-aided evaluations of surface water systems, including watersheds, rivers, and lakes.
  • Model and design stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects.
  • Prepare FEMA Letter of Map Revision applications.
  • Participate in site project designs.
  • Communicate and prepare written, verbal, and technical information clearly and effectively with clients and internal multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assist with business development, marketing, and proposal preparation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or similar is preferred.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager preferred.
  • Marketing, proposal development and client management experience preferred.
  • 3D numerical modeling experience preferred.
