Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and responsiveness to fulfill internal and external customer needs and satisfaction.
  • Process routine and non-routine teller transactions and related customer and account servicing duties accurately and efficiently in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties, including maintaining records, preparing forms and reports, and balancing the daily vault.
  • Identify and refer sales opportunities to the appropriate business partner or line of business.
  • Provide support for basic consumer deposit account opening.
  • Engage in referral and relationship management in accordance with established objectives and goals.
  • Adhere to security measures and controls to minimize potential losses to the company.
  • Identify customer opportunities through interactive and consultative conversations to assess and address customer needs.
  • Conduct sales and service calls with existing and potential customers to meet existing needs and prospect for new sales leads.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints while maintaining responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in community events supporting efforts under the Community Reinvestment Act.
  • Perform other assigned and required duties.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Move within or between locations, bend, twist, crouch, squat, and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

NBT Bank promotes Jamie Peluso to Director of Treasury Management. NBT Bank announced that Jamie Peluso has been promoted to Director of Treasury Management. She is based at NBT's Eastern New York Regional Headquarters at 677 Broadway in downtown Albany. In this bank wide role, Peluso leads the NBT Bank's strategy, delivery and ongoing enhancement of treasury management solutions designed to help businesses improve cash flow, optimize payment processes and strengthen fraud protection. Peluso's career at NBT is a great example of growth and progression. She joined the bank in 2004 in Retail Banking and moved into what was then Cash Management in 2006, taking on a sales role as the business evolved. As the function expanded into today's Treasury Management offering, Peluso stepped into leadership with her most recent role as Treasury Management Commercial Sales Manager, where she has successfully guided both sales and operations, driving new business and deepening existing client relationships. Peluso earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Siena University in Loudonville, New York. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Tech Valley program offered by the Capital Region Chamber, as well as NBT's Emerging Leaders professional development program. An active community volunteer, Peluso has supported Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York for several years and has served on the organization's Board of Directors.

NBT Bank promotes Joe Sergienko to chief risk officer. NORWICH, N.Y. - NBT Bank has promoted Joe Sergienko to senior vice president and chief risk officer. With this new role, Sergienko has also joined NBT's executive management team. Sergienko joined NBT in 2024 as managing director of Enterprise Risk Management and was promoted to deputy chief risk officer in December 2025. As chief risk officer, he will lead the company's Risk Management division, overseeing enterprise-wide risk strategy, governance, and compliance. "Joe's depth of expertise and forward-looking approach to enterprise risk management will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our risk culture and support long-term growth," NBT Bank CEO Scott Kingsley said. "He has already made a meaningful impact since joining NBT and will continue supporting our long-term growth and risk management strategy." Sergienko brings 25 years of experience as both an in-house practitioner and a professional services advisor to financial services and fintech organizations of varying sizes and complexity. His expertise includes designing and executing enterprise-wide risk management and compliance programs, helping institutions strengthen their risk frameworks and navigate evolving regulatory environments. Prior to joining NBT, Sergienko served as managing director of Risk and Compliance for Treliant Consulting. His career also includes leadership and advisory roles with Promontory Financial Group and State Street Corp. He earned his associate degree in accounting from New England College of Finance, his bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from Northeastern University, and his MBA from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. In addition, he holds the Six Sigma Green Belt certification and is a member of the Global Assoc. of Risk Professionals and ProSight Financial Assoc. (formerly the Risk Management Assoc.). NBT Bank to host Community Shred Day and food drive. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - NBT Bank has announced it will host a Community Shred Day on Saturday, May 9, 2026. The event is scheduled to take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the bank's branch located at 331 State Road. To facilitate the event, NBT Bank is partnering with Valley Green Shredding, LLC to provide professional document destruction services to the public at no cost. The initiative aims to help community members protect their personal information by safely disposing of sensitive old documents. While the service is free, organizers have noted the following guidelines: * There is a five bag or box maximum per person. * The event is intended for personal documents only; no business shredding will be accepted. Utica, NY (April 28, 2026) - NBT Bank Mohawk Valley Regional President David Manzelmann announced that Frank Aceto has joined the company as Business Banking Regional Manager for the Mohawk Valley, where he will join NBT's experienced full-service team to lead business banking efforts and support local businesses throughout the region. Aceto brings more than 15 years of financial services experience to NBT Bank. Most recently, he served as a Community Lender at Adirondack Bank, where he managed a portfolio of more than 300 business customers and originated commercial loans up to $350,000.
