Requirements
  • A board-certified or eligible ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in corneal surgery is preferred but not explicitly stated.
  • Ability to handle high surgical volume including corneal grafts (approximately 100 grafts per year across penetrating keratoplasty, Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty, and endothelial keratoplasty techniques), 600 cataract surgeries per year (one-third complex).
  • Willingness to participate in teaching and research activities and affiliation with ophthalmology residency programs.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain high surgical volume from day one including corneal graft procedures (approximately 100 grafts per year across penetrating keratoplasty, Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty, and endothelial keratoplasty), management of ulcers (1–3 per week), handling significant external disease, ocular surface disease, second opinions, uveitis, and secondary glaucoma.
  • Perform multiple anterior segment reconstructions per month.
  • Manage approximately 600 cataract surgeries per year (one-third complex).
  • Provide opportunities for teaching and research involvement within the practice and affiliated teaching programs.
