- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Certification or registration through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or an equivalent organization is required.
- The candidate must be skilled in obtaining and documenting vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, oxygen saturation, height, and weight.
- The candidate must be proficient in EKG administration and other routine diagnostic procedures as directed by the provider.
- The candidate must know infection control, universal precautions, and sterile technique.
- The candidate must be competent in assisting with minor procedures, patient preparation, and clinical room setup.
- The candidate must be proficient in medical terminology, documentation accuracy, and appointment scheduling.
- Conduct comprehensive patient intakes, including obtaining vital signs, recording medical histories, and reviewing medication and allergy information.
- Assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection in accordance with policy and competency standards.
- Prepare, label, and process laboratory samples and point-of-care tests accurately.
- Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration across all clinical areas.
- Support providers with patient triage, care coordination, and transitions across clinical settings.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, chronic condition management, and preventive care.
- Accurately document clinical data, provider instructions, and patient updates in the electronic health record.
- Schedule, confirm, and track patient appointments, referrals, authorizations, and test results to ensure timely care.
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with prior authorizations, billing, and coding processes as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and prepare examination or procedure rooms with required supplies and equipment.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and safety drills to support continuous quality improvement.
- Facilitate communication among patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and all compliance standards.
- Uphold compassionate, culturally competent care while maintaining sensitivity to diverse patient populations.
- Provide guest service to internal team members and patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bilingual English and Spanish ability is preferred.
- Certification in EKG or phlebotomy procedures through an approved program is preferred.
- Prior exposure to multispecialty or hospital-based environments is preferred.

Fort Myers-based Millennium Physician Group has acquired Orlando's IMA Medical Group, expanding its reach in central Florida. IMA, with 53 providers and 17 clinics, serves over 22,000 Medicare Advantage members. The acquisition aims to enhance value-based care without changing IMA's practice names or care models. Financial terms were not disclosed. Guggenheim Securities advised IMA, and Foley & Lardner LLP provided legal counsel to Millennium.
Together, the Fort Myers-based Millennium Physician Group and Orlando-headquartered IMA Medical Group include more than 950 health care providers.
