Location: Remote. Can be based anywhere in the United States. Must live within an hour of a major airport and willing to travel 20%-40%.
Your Impact:
As Vice President - Global Government Affairs you are a dynamic and experienced leader with deep experience managing US and International government affairs programs. You will be responsible for Axon’s International and domestic (state and local) government affairs efforts. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will manage an internal team of professionals located in the U.S. and Europe, as well as external teams of government affairs consultants located throughout the world. You will help shape legislative and procurement strategies, educate stakeholders on the benefits of Axon’s products and solutions, and collaborate with Axon’s leadership, sales and Federal government affairs teams. Finally, you should bring a passion for technology, public safety and Axon’s mission to Protect Life.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and advance Axon’s state legislative, regulatory, and policy engagement strategy.
- Drive a compliance first culture in Axon’s government affairs efforts
- Build relationships with elected officials and key government officials and staff to execute on strategy.
- Monitor and engage when needed on key legislative, executive, regulatory, and political developments and trends that could affect company.
- Conduct analysis of political impact of breaking news and developments.
- Build, develop, and maintain priority relationships with partner organizations to advance Axon’s mission.
- Lead external consulting resources to bring focus on legislative and regulatory issues that affect the company.
- Engage political staffers, attend legislative meetings and events.
- Draft policy memos and position statements on positions and priorities.
- Draft legislative and budget amendments.
- Translate sales and product priorities into specific legislative and regulatory opportunities
- Ensure outreach and advocacy is coordinated with our sales leadership team.
- Join forces and closely coordinate activities with other teams within Axon.
What You Bring
- Eight plus years combined related experience in both US and International government affairs and public policy.
- Must possess political savvy sufficient to affect short-term and long-term results in the political environment.
- Demonstrated experience and success working in a bipartisan fashion to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with government decision makers and influencers.
- Strong team building and coalition experience, including working with public affairs and public relations firms.
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 190,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 250,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 290,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 420,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
