EdgeBeam Wireless acquires Sinclair's Broadspan distribution platform to accelerate its national data delivery network leveraging ATSC 3.0.

EdgeBeam Wireless acquires Sinclair's Broadspan distribution platform to accelerate its national data delivery network leveraging ATSC 3.0. Strategic investment in Sinclair's Broadspan software and talent drives EdgeBeam's commitment to deliver efficient one-to-many data distribution services nationwide via broadcast infrastructure. BOSTON-(BUSINESS WIRE)-EdgeBeam Wireless, the world's first Hybrid Network Operator - a foundational layer at the edge enabling one-to-many data distribution for today's wireless networks, today announced the strategic acquisition of the Broadspan distribution platform from Sinclair, Inc. The acquisition includes the Broadspan software suite and its core engineering team, a move that significantly accelerates EdgeBeam's go-to-market strategy by advancing the deployment timeline by multiple quarters and providing a national-scale data distribution network utilizing broadcast infrastructure. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. "As the world's first HNO, we're reimagining the movement of data at the edge. The Broadspan software gives us a strategic control point in the network for routing, managing, and sourcing data for a national scale ATSC 3.0 data network," said Joe Fabiano. Share EdgeBeam addresses congestion at the last mile by operating as a Hybrid Network Operator (HNO), combining the one-to-many efficiency of the ATSC 3.0 broadcast spectrum with the coverage of a traditional ISP (internet service provider). Using Broadspan's provisioning software and the wide-scale reach of its partners' TV broadcast infrastructure, EdgeBeam transforms existing high-power broadcast towers into a scalable data distribution network. This data path uses multicast technology to bypass cellular bottlenecks, enabling a single transmission to reach unlimited endpoints simultaneously. The result is a commercially ready network that delivers enterprise-grade data, such as software updates, digital signage downloads, and GPS-resilient positioning, over the last mile with the flexibility and control of an ISP, but without the delays and high costs. "As the world's first HNO, we're reimagining the movement of data at the edge. The Broadspan software gives us a strategic control point in the network for routing, managing, and sourcing data for a national scale ATSC 3.0 data network," said Joe Fabiano, Chief Technology Officer, EdgeBeam Wireless. "Integrating Broadspan's technology and expert team of technologists provides our customers with a unified, reliable architecture for deploying their services, from high-precision positioning and digital signage to automotive and public safety applications." "Data distribution is a powerful next step in the evolution of broadcasting," said Del Parks, President of Technology at Sinclair. "Broadspan's ability to leverage existing broadcast infrastructure and its efficient one-to-many broadcast architecture provides a highly scalable, cost-effective tool for data users, and EdgeBeam is the right partner to lead this platform into its next phase of growth." Impact: Scaling the One-to-Many Model The acquisition cements EdgeBeam's position as last-mile data distribution network - the final leg of data delivery where traditional networks often face the most strain. Key strategic benefits include: * Talent Expansion: Specialized software and network engineers from the Broadspan team will join EdgeBeam, doubling the company's current technical headcount. * National Scalability: Broadspan's software is a strategic component of the ATSC 3.0 wireless data core, enabling EdgeBeam to scale its services across the U.S. more rapidly. * Operational Efficiency: The platform provides customers with real-time visibility and a streamlined ordering process for distributing large files, software updates, and video over-the-air to any 3.0-enabled device. * Cost-Effective Distribution: By broadcasting one file to millions of recipients simultaneously, EdgeBeam can drastically reduce data distribution costs - potentially saving industries billions compared to individual, one-to-one cellular updates. About EdgeBeam Wireless EdgeBeam Wireless is the world's first Hybrid Network Operator (HNO), a foundational layer at the edge enabling one-to-many data distribution for today's wireless networks. Providing a more efficient and economical path to move enterprise-grade data in the last mile, EdgeBeam reduces congestion and lowers capital investment. Serving industries from connected vehicles and public safety to IoT Services, EdgeBeam is strengthening U.S. network performance and laying the foundation for future innovation. High veteran population in Horry co drives demand for help from DAV Chapter 30.

High veteran population in Horry co drives demand for help from DAV Chapter 30. by Kyra Purvis Tue, March 24, 2026 at 8:11 AM Updated Tue, March 24, 2026 at 8:37 AM DAV Chapter 30 hosts open house every Wednesday for Veterans who need assistance, (wpde.com) Sinclair is proud to announce the launch of Sinclair Cares DAV Community Impact Day, a nationwide volunteer initiative dedicated to supporting America's veterans and their families in partnership with Disabled American Veterans (DAV). The campaign highlights the vital work being done by local chapters across the country while encouraging communities to step in and make a difference. In Horry County, South Carolina, that mission is already making an impact. Veterans with the Carroll E. Prosser Chapter 30, continue to serve long after their time in uniform has ended. For many, the transition to civilian life brings new challenges, but the sense of purpose never truly fades. "The military is a very special environment the comradeship is pretty phenomenal," said Tom Huston, a veteran who now leads the chapter. Huston understands firsthand the importance of that bond and has made it his mission to support fellow veterans in need. Each week, between 35 and 45 veterans turn to the chapter for help. Huston says Horry County has one of the highest per capita veteran populations in the country ,and the need for support is significant. The chapter assists veterans with filing disability claims and navigating complex paperwork to secure the compensation they deserve. But their support often goes beyond paperwork, providing immediate relief when it matters most. "We will actually pay the rent or we pay their utilities so they stay on," Huston said. In some cases, the assistance comes during a veteran's final days. Huston recalled helping a man in hospice complete paperwork to ensure his family would be taken care of after he passed. "It gives them peace they know their family is taken care of," he said. Many of the challenges veterans face are not visible. Beyond physical injuries, there are mental and emotional struggles, including PTSD and the difficulty of adjusting to life without the structure of military service. "All of a sudden you don't have a mission anymore," Huston explained. That's why the chapter serves as more than just a resource center - it's a place where veterans can connect with others who understand their experiences. The sense of camaraderie remains strong, offering comfort and support to those who walk through the doors. "They love coming here because we're all fellow service members," Huston said. Looking ahead, the Carroll E. Prosser Chapter 30 plans to expand its reach, including a new initiative to build tiny homes for veterans in need. The chapter hosts open houses every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the main facility located at 2988 Church Street, just off of 29th Avenue in Myrtle Beach. Veterans have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with others and receive the assistance they need. SPONSORED CONTENT MORE TO EXPLORE
