- At least four years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment working with control systems, programmable logic controllers, computer numerical control controls, robots, personal computers, and human-machine interfaces.
- Working knowledge of prints, schematics, and equipment documentation for installation, modification, and repair of production equipment.
- Working knowledge of machine communications, including communication cables and local area network components.
- Full competency working safely in electrical control panels across various voltage levels.
- Qualification to work in electrical panels of three-phase 480 volts and lower using proper safety procedures and personal protective equipment, verified through a practical demonstration.
- Good computer, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- A robot-school certificate is required to operate and teach robots.
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair automatic, robotic, and computer numerical control machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair automated paint lines, setting presses, automated welders, computer numerical control grinders, robots, and other complex machinery.
- Support equipment and machinery, including programmable logic controller programming and program modifications, and programming human-machine interfaces and servo controllers.
- Jog and reset Fanuc and Denso robots.
- Teach and touch up robot positions to correct material-handling paths.
- Plan and install primary and secondary controls; diagnose electrical and electronic problems; replace or repair parts; detect and replace defective control modules; test units for proper function; and make final adjustments.
- Prepare wiring diagrams to record changes.
- Perform mechanical repairs as necessary.
- Support daily continuous-improvement activities.
- Enter completed and in-progress work into the SAP work-order system.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support production.
- Prior robot-school experience is strongly preferred.
