Requirements
  • Ability to provide personal care, bathing, and personal hygiene to patients
  • Ability to assist nursing staff in providing effective and safe patient care
  • Ability to participate in admission, dismissal, and transfer processes
  • Ability to monitor patients at bedside and/or remotely via audio/visual technology
  • Ability to accurately complete patient cares and documentation according to policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to report safety concerns and health concerns of patients to the nurse
  • Ability to encourage patients to participate in their own activities of daily living
Responsibilities
  • Completes patient cares and documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to policies, procedures and regulations
  • Demonstrates the desire to grow as an employee, team and facility
  • Positively supports and contributes to departmental development as evidenced by participating in meetings and training
  • Contributes valuable input to the patient’s care planning process as a member of the multidisciplinary team
  • Assesses and provides direct resident care needs to residents with supervised personal/rehabilitative cares as outlined in their individualized care plan
  • Reports any safety concerns, abnormal parameters as defined for the patient population, or health concerns of the patient to the nurse
  • Encourages the patient to participate in their own activities of daily living and other aspects of the plan of care as appropriate
  • Completes all other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies preferred
  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - South Dakota Board of Nursing preferred
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred
