You will demonstrate your engineering skills and by leveraging the firm’s technology centric competitive edge you will work with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client personnel to design, test, make operational, optimize, and validate Electrical systems in multiple 24x7 mission critical plants, pharmaceutical, healthcare, power generation or similar environments.

Job Responsibilities
This position will involve developing and coordinating functional testing of multi-stack equipment and multi-redundant system configurations within a trade. You will review criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Represents Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal FMCx and design teams as well as external clients and consultants(including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
- Review project criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning and provide a peer review level of feedback.
- Technical writing ability to create and Operating Procedures and Technical instructional material.
- Works the required OT to ensure projects are successful.
- Assists senior engineer and/or senior designer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
- Develop and coordinate Commissioning Plans; Develop and coordinate functional testing of multi-stack equipment and multi-redundant system configurations within a trade.
- Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
- Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports.
- Assume responsible charge for the overall economic wellbeing of the assigned projects.
- Conduct operational, facility, and risk audits under the direction of a senior engineer or senior project manager.
- Estimates construction costs and to evaluate feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)
- Networks within SHG and outside.
- Oversight of multiple Cx agents/engineers on multiple projects assigned to them.
- Oversight of project financials and interoffice/client reporting structure. Successfully forecasts project financials and assigned budgets to team members.
- Assists with employee reviews as requested.
- Participates in QA/QC process of completed work by staff.
- Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
- Performs staff resource management and review.
- Provide technical coordination of complex commissioning efforts with multiple trades and efforts occurring simultaneously.
- Pursues continuing education.
- Serve as a Project Manager on smaller projects (under $50k in NEF)
- Writes FMCx proposals under the direction of a senior engineer and can estimate commissioning costs
Job Requirements
To succeed in this role, your experience would include commissioning or designing of large Mechanical systems for industrial, data center, pharmaceutical processes, or laboratory clean rooms. Your technical strengths must be complemented by self-motivation, relationship building skills, and effective communication skills.
Commissioning Engineer requirements:
- BSME degree preferred but will substitute significant years of experience for exceptional candidates. This experience would include commissioning or designing of large HVAC systems for industrial, data center, pharmaceutical processes, or laboratory clean rooms.
- Possesses a basic understanding of proper system selection
- Exhibits a basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to building designs
- Exhibits a thorough understanding of applicable codes
- Experience with ASHRAE, BCxA, and/or PECI Cx and RETRO-Cx procedures and protocols, a plus
- QCP certification or PE is preferred

The salary range listed below is for this particular job posting. Actual pay range for candidates will be commensurate with candidate’s experience, skillsets and competencies and may differ based on the cost of labor in their particular location.
