- A high school education with 10+ years of network engineering experience, or commensurate experience, is required.
- At least 5 years of hands-on enterprise network experience is required.
- An active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability are required.
- A professional certification such as Cisco Certified Network Professional or Cisco Certified Design Professional is required.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting diverse network architectures and devices is required.
- Knowledge of major network routing protocols, including dynamic routing, is required.
- Experience with a variety of firewalls is required.
- A solid background in network administration and architecture is required.
- Knowledge of building, developing, and maintaining software-defined wide area network environments is required.
- Familiarity with access control models and network security is required.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools is required.
- A solid understanding of Aruba, Juniper, and Cisco network operating systems is required.
- A solid understanding of virtual private networks is required.
- The ability to terminate fiber and network cables is required.
- The ability to work independently is required.
- Experience designing, writing, and updating system documentation and network diagrams is required.
- Provide Tier 3 support and engineering expertise for the design, testing, and implementation of the Next Generation Network across all DEA offices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot diverse network architectures and devices.
- Manage and maintain software-defined wide area network, dynamic multipoint virtual private network, Layer 2/3, and wireless networks.
- Implement network security measures, including access control models and firewalls.
- Support classified and unclassified environments while ensuring operational continuity, security compliance, and high availability.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex network incidents, outages, and performance issues.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design sessions, and implementation planning.
- Collaborate with Security, Cloud, Systems, and Application teams to ensure integrated solutions.
- Support global operations, including after-hours support and maintenance windows as required.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Administer Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure, Cisco Unified Computing System, and virtualization environments using VMware and UCS Director.
- Perform network diagnostics and analysis.
- Troubleshoot production outages with service providers.
- Terminate fiber and network cables.
- Provide operational support for data centers.
- Manage network applications on client workstations.
- Optimize virtual private network and network performance.
- Implement server load balancing and wide area network optimization.
- Secure network access.
