Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience designing and building instrumentation and control systems is preferred.
  • A four-year degree in a technical or engineering-related field is required.
  • A licensed professional engineer (PE), or ability to attain licensure, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit Building Information Modeling, and the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Proficiency with network Internet Protocol addressing, virtual local area networks, inter-VLAN routing, and configuration and basic support of network equipment, hardware, and software is required.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project is required.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently and coordinate with team members in other offices.
  • The candidate must have strong troubleshooting skills and be capable of supporting system installation activities on a project site.
  • The candidate must be physically capable of lifting 40 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Regularly interface with clients and multidisciplinary project team members.
  • Serve as the instrumentation and controls engineer for projects ranging from minor control system upgrades to major new system designs and installations within municipal and industrial client spaces.
  • Review design documents, including shop-level drawings for control panel designs, instrument installation details, detailed operational technology and information technology network architectures and riser diagrams, and supervisory control and data acquisition system architecture.
  • Provide detailed network design, including fiber optics, to interconnect various network systems.
  • Provide basic first-line information technology network support for planning, configuration, and troubleshooting of network and computer equipment and associated software.
  • Recommend software packages and implementations to meet the needs of supported organizations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors during network and computer equipment installations and repairs.
  • Oversee the management and integration of automation projects throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Prepare project submittals, operations and maintenance manuals, testing and commissioning plans, and as-built and record documents at project completion.
  • Maintain Underwriters Laboratories certifications.
  • Handle procurement and inventory services.
  • Prepare project bids and construction estimates.
  • Work flexible hours to meet business needs.
  • Travel to client locations as project assignments require, approximately 40% of the time.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety training.
