Requirements
  • A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • At least six months of experience performing and mastering the tasks of Operator I is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos is required.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence is required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver throughout a shop or warehouse is required.
  • Ability to safely bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working is required.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate hand tools and mechanical tools is required.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions is required.
  • Ability to respond to visual and aural cues is required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.
  • Ability to complete work safely and follow environmental, safety, personal protective equipment, housekeeping, and company policy requirements is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly of rods and other assigned tasks under the direction of the Production Supervisor.
  • Perform all jobs in the department and keep pace with the production line.
  • Learn and adhere to the quality standards of each workstation.
  • Learn workstation safety hazards and take appropriate steps to avoid them.
  • Train new operators on job tasks, quality points, safety precautions, and housekeeping duties.
  • Complete documents and reports as instructed.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Attend Basic Safety Training, Safety Meetings, Basic Waste Elimination and 6S training, and demonstrate the knowledge and behaviors obtained.
  • Accomplish assigned tasks while prioritizing safety and housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
