Requirements
  • Outside Contractor Salesman must have some experience in the sales and construction industry.
  • At least one year's experience in the outside contractor sales environment.
Responsibilities
  • Drive sales through the growth of existing clients.
  • Generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop new relationships within the residential construction communities.
  • Perform all aspects of selling/closing a project.
  • Complete documents on time, such as construction bids, take-offs, change orders.
  • Achieve/exceed recent sales call targets per month within a specified territory.
  • Generate new sales opportunities by networking, referrals, permits, checking out upcoming subdivisions and researching the builders in the area.
  • Represent the organization and engage in other marketing activities.
  • Inspect, scope, and estimate projects.
  • Maintain acceptable profit margins.
  • Follow up on all estimates with builders.
  • Maintain sales quota for each quarter and year as provided.
  • Initiative-taking and self-driven - able to create opportunities and maximize productivity during slow periods.
  • Resourceful thinker - innovative in finding leads and tracking industry trends.
  • Purposeful analytical person - thrive on challenges, continuously looking for ways to improve and grow sales.
  • Tech-savvy - proficient in using quoting software for (window bids, door bids) order entry, if necessary, pickup tickets, service work.

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or business can help this candidate grow their career but it is not required.
