Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the execution and processes of assigned projects and monitor change management strategies and outcomes.
  • Develop project plans according to strategic development priorities defined by project requesters and leadership.
  • Ensure project scope, dates, commitments, and project plans are communicated to stakeholders and updated as necessary.
  • Monitor and report project status, including risks, schedule issues, and milestone achievements, to stakeholders and departmental leadership.
  • Develop project plans and schedules and ensure projects meet departmental requirements, standards, policies, and deadlines.
  • Keep informed of departmental strategies and priorities and influence the work of project team members in line with those priorities.
  • Track deadlines, monitor incoming requests, manage commitments, and use project management tools to meet project timelines.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of all department projects, their purpose and status, and ensure projects meet outlined processes.
  • Monitor and report project status, issues, resource requirements, dependencies, and project plans.
  • Keep stakeholders and departmental leadership informed of project statuses, milestone achievements, toll gate progress, risks, and issues that may adversely affect project schedules.
  • Document project deliverables, outputs, and key project decisions and keep project management records and systems accurate and up to date.
  • Work with product teams, content creators, and department stakeholders to align priorities and project progress.
  • Manage incoming requests and validate that appropriate requirements are included.
  • Produce timely and accurate reports, including weekly progress reports covering completed project tasks, upcoming priorities, and dependencies.
  • Provide input to develop or refine project management procedures and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Develop realistic project plans and schedules by analyzing organizational process assets, enterprise environmental factors, task dependencies, resource requirements, work breakdown, departmental strategy, and priorities.
  • Ensure projects meet organizational standards and comply with applicable policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Monitor change management strategies and their outcomes.
  • Conduct retrospectives on completed projects, document lessons learned, and prepare retrospective documentation.
  • Conduct data analysis and research course- and program-level information during the analysis phases of projects when requested.
  • Track project costs to meet the budget.
  • Facilitate change requests and ensure all parties are informed of impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education, WGU, and program development is preferred.
  • A master's degree from an accredited institution or higher in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
