Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development plus six months of direct patient care experience or one year of postsecondary education
  • Current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology
  • For Polysomnographic Technician: Graduate of or currently enrolled in a CAAHEP accredited polysomnographic technology program OR Graduate of or currently enrolled in a CAAHEP accredited electroneurodiagnostic or respiratory care program with a polysomnographic add on program OR eligible through BRPT pathways as defined (960 hours of experience and completion of STAR-designated Self-Study education program or equivalent)
  • For Polysomnographic Technologist: One year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Technician or Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist or Polysomnographic Technologist
  • Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association
  • Preferred: Eligible or registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by BRPT
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited polysomnographic technology program (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Polysomnographic Trainee: Under supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist, perform either Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations; understand testing equipment, its structure and function, indications for use, physiological effects on the patient, and basic maintenance/troubleshooting procedures; apply principles of anatomy and physiology related to the procedure; monitor and document in the medical record per facility guidelines; work with all age groups including those with growth and developmental needs; perform other department-specific duties as required
  • Polysomnographic Technician: Provide sleep care services to perform Polysomnograms, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, Maintenance Wakefulness Tests and Unattended Sleep Studies; acquire and maintain required technical skills and medical knowledge; remain trainee until registered in polysomnography and able to perform functions independently; when not registered, work under supervision; if supervising technologist is unavailable, may be utilized in a different role

Physician assistant joins Marshfield Clinic Wisconsin Rapids Center urgent care team. Jennifer Radtke, a certified physician assistant | Mayo Clinic Health System Jennifer Radtke, a certified physician assistant, has joined the Marshfield Clinic Wisconsin Rapids Center to provide care for patients in urgent care. She will move to the Emergency Department when the Marshfield Medical Center-Wisconsin Rapids Campus opens in 2026. Radtke began her career at Marshfield Clinic as a research assistant and later developed an interest in emergency medicine during her service with the U.S. Navy in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. "I like the fast-paced environment and that I am always learning something new," Radtke said. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and earned a master's degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Radtke grew up near Wisconsin Rapids and expressed satisfaction about working in her home community. In her personal time, she enjoys activities with her children and their dog, including gardening, daily walks, and participating in 5K races to support local fundraising initiatives.
