Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of professional experience in communications or related field, at least one of which is in a medical, educational, non-profit or public sector setting or Master’s degree and one year of experience.
  • Excellent writing, communications, design and proofreading skills.
  • Experience executing comprehensive communications plans, and/or managing multiple communications projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Responsibilities
  • In alignment with the legislative, Consortium and University strategies, develop engaging and persuasive written content that focuses on the impact of the many mental health access programs that work to advance our mission.
  • Deliver and target content to specific audiences. Disseminate content through digital marketing tools, including websites, newsletters, and other channels.
  • Under the direction of the Sr. Communications Program Coordinator, conduct advanced planning and development of communication material presentations, webinars, meetings, and special events that help meet strategic goals and expand the reach of the Texas Child Mental Health programs and similar initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and/or review of internal communications, such as employee newsletters and updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in working with cross-institutional branding guidelines, website development, social media content, and/or graphic design.
  • Experience with communicating complex information to broad audiences, including high-profile stakeholders.
  • Experience using Smartsheet, Kanbanchi, or other project management platform.
  • Knowledge of national, state, and local mental health policy.
  • Familiarity with programs: Canva, Adobe InDesign, MailChimp, Salesforce and/or WordPress.
  • Experience working with cross-program/cross-departmental/cross-institutional communications.
