Requirements
  • Current ARRT in Radiography OR Current ARDMS in one category (Abd or OB/GYN)
  • BLS certification required within 45 days of start
  • Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
  • Able to perform all diagnostic exams as related to assigned modality
  • Travel may be required to provide services to various SEARHC sites
  • Experience in radiologic technology and ability to work in two imaging fields and willingness to work outside modality (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography)
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities levels Tech I to Tech IV with ARRT or ARDMS certification in multiple modalities
  • License/Certification listed under Required Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Basic Life Support, Clinical Competency Assessment
  • Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required includes ARRT or ARDMS and BLS
  • Must be able to perform venipuncture and magnet safety procedures and participate in QC and daily/weekly tasks
Responsibilities
  • Provide radiographic/Sonographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation and exercise professional judgement in radiation protection
  • Perform diagnostic medical radiography/sonography within department and other areas
  • Maintain patient records and files
  • Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program
  • Pursue continuing education
  • Transfer patient to and from radiology
  • In absence of supervisor, assume responsibility of department
  • Rotate shifts as required
  • Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor
  • Follow policies and procedures as set up by SEARHC Administration
  • Assist in general hygiene of department and self
  • Work well in situations of stress and be willing to take call and report to work within 20 minutes
  • Learn other imaging modalities as Manager sees fit and perform duties in two fields of imaging including Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography
  • Mammography tasks including breast needle localization, specimen radiography, quality control, screening, diagnostic, stereotactic breast biopsy; achieve 100 mammograms per year and five CEU Mammography credits per year
  • Ultrasound tasks including perform exams for diagnostic interpretation, pursue RDMS certification, care of transducers, paperwork, assistance with invasive procedures, participate in policy/procedure development, consult with physicians, care of Trophon station, assist with accreditation efforts, continuing education
  • MRI tasks including care of coils and paperwork, policy/procedure development, converse with physicians, venipuncture, magnet safety, quench procedure, cleaning, processor care, QC
  • CT/Interventional tasks including equipment care, record maintenance, assist with invasive procedures, procedure preparation, consult with physicians, venipuncture, standard precautions, tailor protocols for pediatric/adolescent/geriatric, set up injector, know contract contraindications, tele-radiology, sterile technique, inventory
  • Lead Technologist responsibilities including staff management, PACS validation, scheduling, conflict resolution, hiring/orientation, expertise resource
  • Secondary functions including attending meetings and drills
