Requirements
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including experience with an HRIS/payroll system and related reporting.
  • Possess strong expertise in UK payroll legislation
  • Detail-orientated and self-motivation are essential
  • Expert knowledge of a HRIS/payroll system & reporting. (e.g., Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft, ADP)
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of employee records and information
  • Strong team player, with the ability to work cooperatively with individuals at all levels
  • Possesses strong technical and analytical skills and can deal well with complexity and abstraction
  • Handles multiple and concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
  • Makes decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines
  • Capable of being well organized and command strong planning skills
  • Professionalism, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various personalities
Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end UK payroll process for approximately 2,600 employees using Workday, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
  • Complete payroll checks according to the payroll control procedures
  • Process employee benefits, including allowances, bonuses, stock options, healthcare, insurance, and pensions
  • Handle sick pay, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave pay
  • Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to address payroll queries and meet reporting needs
  • Support the team with complex payroll calculations and resolving payroll related queries
  • Handle delegated tasks from the Payroll Manager efficiently to provide seamless support as needed
  • Address employee queries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits in a timely and effective manner
  • Supporting projects such as the integration of new entities and the implementation of new payrolls
  • Prepare pre- and post-payroll audit reports for HR Partners’ review and approval
  • Ensure payroll compliance, supporting SOX and internal/external audits
  • Ensure timely pension file uploads and reconciliations
  • Provide day-to-day support for compensation and benefits as it relates to payroll
  • Identify areas for improvement in payroll processes and implement more efficient working methods
  • Prepare and export payroll data files according to the payment schedule
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR and company policies
  • Ensure payroll procedures and process flows are kept up to date
  • Support the team during peak payroll periods or high-volume needs, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Respond to HRBP inquiries regarding payroll calculations and deductions, investigating and correcting issues as needed
  • Ensure vendor invoices are reviewed and approved before being sent for payment
  • Work closely with payroll vendors to ensure smooth payroll operations

  • Experience with EMEA payroll is a plus
  • CIPP or other relevant payroll qualifications are a plus
