Requirements
  • 7+ years of product management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex product initiatives with substantial impact, influencing across the organization without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to independently define long-term product strategies aligned with business objectives, anticipating future trends and opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers, building robust partnerships.
  • Passion and knowledge about digital media and news with deep subject matter expertise in new market opportunities.
  • Expertise in data analysis to inform product strategy and decisions, defining and tracking key performance indicators for new product launches.
  • Fluency in digital product, digital media, and subscription metrics, especially as they pertain to new vertical performance.
  • Experience defining and implementing product requirements for new features on websites and/or mobile apps.
  • Proven ability partnering with a technology organization, contributing to technical discussions and understanding the impact of technology choices.
  • Proven strategic thinking skills and strong product judgment on complex and high-impact products, making critical decisions aligning with long-term goals.
  • Experience conducting experimentation for new product features and launches.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the definition of product requirements and prioritize the roadmap for new subscription verticals, influencing across multiple teams without direct authority and effectively communicating product vision and strategy.
  • Shape product strategy based on deep customer understanding, proactively identifying unmet needs and pain points for new B2C subscription opportunities.
  • Drive digital subscription growth by creating and enhancing user experiences across the entire funnel for new verticals, including onsite placements, registration prompts, paywalls, shop pages, and retention initiatives.
  • Own both the long-term strategy and roadmap for new subscription products, including enhancements and optimizations to increase conversion rates, engagement, and subscriber revenue.
  • Perform in-depth analysis to demonstrate ROI and impact of new product launches, measuring against subscription goals.
  • Work with research teams to gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative audience feedback regarding new products.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers and UX designers throughout the product life cycle, exhibiting strong technical acumen and understanding feasibility to make smart product choices aligned with technology impact.
  • Define and measure KPIs for success for new subscription verticals, ensuring accountability and aligning with business objectives.
  • Able to decline requests (by saying no, or not at this time) and articulate the reasons, prioritizing effectively for new initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
