Requirements
  • A minimum master's degree in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
  • Credentials must be obtained before the employment start date.
  • Candidates must demonstrate academic preparation, professional experience, or technical expertise in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or the intersection of these disciplines.
Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within UNLV's cybersecurity programs.
  • Help expand the integration of artificial intelligence concepts, tools, and applications throughout the cybersecurity curriculum.
  • Develop and update curriculum.
  • Mentor and advise students.
  • Support program assessment and accreditation activities.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service.
  • Incorporate contemporary artificial intelligence technologies and methodologies into cybersecurity education.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of UNLV's cybersecurity programs.
  • Support strategic initiatives related to the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity program, including Cyber AI education, workforce development, and curriculum innovation.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PhD in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Evidence of effective and impactful teaching, particularly in online and technology-enhanced learning environments.
  • Prior academic or industry experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, data analytics, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in artificial intelligence technologies, including machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI workflow, CyberAIOps, large language models, data science, or related areas.
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence techniques to cybersecurity challenges, including threat detection, security analytics, cyber threat intelligence, adversarial machine learning, secure AI systems, AI governance, or responsible AI.
  • Professional certifications relevant to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience developing hands-on laboratories, projects, simulations, or experiential learning activities involving artificial intelligence and/or cybersecurity technologies.
  • Technical skills related to the use, development, and instruction of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud, data analytics, or software development tools.
