Requirements
  • Active, unrestricted mental health license in the state of primary residence and the state where medical services are provided.
  • Must be active or willing to obtain an Iowa license.

Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling and therapy treatment to patients remotely through telemedicine throughout Iowa.
  • Provide patient care using evidence-based practices and treatment modalities appropriate to patients' clinical needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, psychoeducation, trauma therapy, addiction therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and bereavement or grief counseling.
  • Implement treatment modalities in individual and group therapy settings and engage patients in their treatment plans.
  • Review and sign patient psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and consents as needed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clinic records, including documentation of activities performed as part of the service delivery process.
  • Document all services and patient activities appropriately and ensure documentation complies with clinical best practices, contracts, regulatory requirements, and other legal requirements.
  • Conduct crisis intervention for individuals and families based on individual safety plans.
  • Participate in regular case planning with the multidisciplinary team as new information is gathered to determine the most clinically appropriate patient disposition.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision as required.
  • Participate in ongoing education, including in-services, training, and other activities, to maintain and improve competency.
  • Demonstrate competency through post-testing, skill observation, and performance assessment by the direct supervisor.
  • Provide case management services to promote recovery and community reintegration as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
