Roadway Design Project Engineer @ Lochmueller Group

We are looking for a talented Civil Engineer to join our Roadway team in either Springfield or Champaign. The ideal candidate for this role will be a Professional Engineer with experience working on local agency and/or DOT roadway design projects. In this position, the candidate will:

Support project managers in the planning and execution of roadway design projects.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and timelines.
Conduct engineering analysis and design for assigned projects.
Designs complete projects or components of a project and prepares complete project documents.
Apply engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria to support project execution.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met.
Prepare and review project documentation, reports, and specifications.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
May assign work to junior engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.
May be involved in the mentorship and development of junior level staff.
May perform other duties associated with this role.

Qualifications for this role:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
4+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
Proficient in project scheduling tools and software.
Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
Commitment to quality and excellence.
Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
