- Have less than one year of experience working as a registered nurse; no experience is required.
- Be eligible to practice as determined by the State Board of Nursing.
- Hold Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association, or obtain it within 90 days.
- For Illinois, obtain a Registered Professional Nurse license within three months of the official NCLEX pass date.

- Develop comprehensive patient and family education plans and provide health education and coaching using appropriate resources and instructional methods.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including processing physician orders where required.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivered by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
- Participate in required patient-care training and complete competency requirements.
- Complete required training, seek assistance, and ask questions to learn and understand the role.
- Demonstrate professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and use the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to patient and population health needs.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other assigned duties.
