Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
  • Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification with additional Continence and Foot Care Certification (CFCN) preferred
  • Wound and Ostomy Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire
  • Minimum of three years of applied related clinical work experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either through American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for most nursing areas within the hospital
  • Ability to work in close collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other health disciplines
  • Ability to travel between MUSC Downtown, MUSC Northeast, and MUSC Kershaw several times a week for consults and weekly assessments
  • Ability to assess, monitor, and treat different types of wounds weekly at all three of the Midland's campuses
  • May be required to assist with ostomy training and education in the MUSC doctor's office
Responsibilities
  • Provide an in-depth plan of care to patients of all ages with wounds, ostomies, or continence issues
  • Coordinate nursing management and collaborate with other health care providers to implement progressive changes
  • Update clinical practice based on current research and changes in the age and level of development of patients, with consideration of the needs of the patient's family
Desired Qualifications
  • Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification

  • Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire
