Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Three to five years of prior related masonry experience is required.
  • Ability to construct drywall partitions and apply tape is required.
  • Ability to use masonry power tools is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform masonry work, including brick laying, concrete work inside and outside, marble laying, plastering, and related assignments.
  • Build stone structures such as walls and abutments, and lay curbstones, walks, and special types of masonry.
  • Shape stone using chisels, hammers, and other shaping tools before setting it.
  • Spread mortar over stone and foundations, set stone by hand or with a hoist, align stone with plumbing, and finish joints with a pointing trowel.
  • Maintain uniform joint thickness by spreading mortar along mortar guides.
  • Set heavy equipment in cement when necessary.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment within the assigned shop or area.
  • Maintain mechanical rooms in the shop.
  • Cooperate with team members to resolve maintenance problems within the shop or area efficiently and promptly.
  • Communicate with team members, Floor Mechanics, Zone Leaders, and System Leaders to ensure prompt responses to repair requests.
