Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, sales support, customer service, construction materials, distribution, or a related industry is required.
  • Strong understanding of order management, pricing, logistics, and customer relationship management is required.
  • Experience working with enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and project management systems is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word, is required.
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound business decisions is required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • The role requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, and telephone communication; frequent keyboarding and data entry; occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional travel to customer locations, branch facilities, and meetings is required as business needs require.
Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned customer projects from initial order placement through final delivery and completion.
  • Review, validate, and process purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate special orders with vendors, purchasing teams, and branch personnel.
  • Oversee order entry, ticket generation, job costing, and project tracking within company systems.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deadlines while addressing delays, discrepancies, and project challenges.
  • Own project execution to ensure customer expectations and company objectives are met.
  • Apply established pricing structures, contract terms, and margin objectives in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Evaluate pricing exceptions and recommend adjustments that support profitability and customer retention.
  • Review and resolve billing discrepancies, credits, adjustments, and invoicing concerns.
  • Analyze project costs and financial impacts to support business decisions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and projects.
  • Maintain customer relationships through proactive communication and responsive service.
  • Communicate order status, delivery schedules, product availability, and issue-resolution updates to customers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to confirm specifications, lead times, inventory availability, and production schedules.
  • Resolve customer concerns and project issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate shipments and delivery schedules with operations and transportation teams.
  • Align delivery timing with customer jobsite requirements and project schedules.
  • Anticipate and resolve logistical challenges while minimizing disruptions.
  • Monitor project deliveries to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Prepare, review, and process submittals for compliance with project specifications and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate sample requests and customer approvals.
  • Communicate approved product selections and specifications to manufacturers to initiate production.
  • Maintain complete and organized project documentation, including approvals, correspondence, specifications, and project records.
  • Maintain accurate and current project information in customer relationship management and business management systems.
  • Track project progress, milestones, and completion status.
  • Generate project reports, forecasts, and updates for sales leadership and management teams.
  • Provide project insights and recommendations supporting sales planning and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with outside sales, operations, purchasing, accounting, and branch leadership teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support District Sales Managers with project updates, forecasting information, and issue-resolution recommendations.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance customer service, operational efficiency, and project performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support sales and corporate objectives.

  • An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Project management and coordination, critical thinking and decision making, customer relationship management, financial and business acumen, time management and prioritization, attention to detail and accuracy, problem solving and conflict resolution, and collaboration and teamwork are key competencies.
