About the Role:
- Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will be responsible for the smooth and efficient functioning of the Company’s Global day-to-day accounting/finance functions.
- Highly analytical Controller to oversee our Company’s financial planning and accounting operations.
- In this position, you will not only be an accomplished accountant closing books for the Company and working closely with the executive team but will be able to thrive in a high-integrity, high-pressure environment.

As the Senior Controller at Alluxio, What You Will Be Able to Build and Own (Accounting & Budgeting):
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the Company’s global accounting and reporting activities and procedures.
- Oversee and develop accounts payable and payroll.
- Identify and assist in hiring additional staff as the Company continues its growth.
- Together with the interim CFO design and enforce policies and internal controls to support the integrity of the Company’s financial statements and reporting practices.
- Help to implement improved accounting processes, including evaluation of current accounting systems and controls.
- Manage and conduct all required accounting functions including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the books.
- Manage monthly financial consolidation for global operations.
- Maintain coding and spend classification for financial reporting.
- Review new GAAP and/or IFRS pronouncements as appropriate for applicability to Company, and document the conclusions with an auditable note to file.
- Assist with the external audit process to ensure that any audited financials are released on a timely basis.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist human resources with payroll and benefit functions as needed.
- Work with tax consultants to assist in the preparation of annual tax returns.
- Work with the CEO & the interim CFO to design, implement and manage the Company’s annual budgeting process.
- Provide detailed monthly total company and individual department Budget/Actual variance analysis.
- Track and report key metrics
As the Senior Controller, What We are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting.
- 7-10+ years of increasing responsibility in the accounting sector, with various different types of companies including startups.
- CPA certification from a Big 4/6/8 accounting firm is strongly preferred.
- Experience in working with Subscription or SaaS-based Enterprise software companies
- Provide support on equity tracking and accounting.
- Assist with required 409A valuations.
- Experience in budgeting/forecasting process preferred.
- Willingness to contribute as necessary beyond the scope of your functional area.
- Experience managing a team is a plus.
- Ability to recognize and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Ability to articulate accounting and finance issues to non-accounting personnel.
- Ability to assist in budgeting and variance reporting processes.
- Strong work ethic and being accountable.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
As the Senior Controller at Alluxio, We Would Appreciate If You Have:
- Facilitate in creation and modification of key financial templates.
- Provide support on financing activities – data room populations, review of key documents, review/monitoring of debt financing covenants.
- Experience with establishment of cross-border transfer pricing structures.
- SAS 606 Implementation experience.
- Selection, Design & Implementation for Mid Level ERP system a plus

The base salary range for this US full-time position is $150,000 - $180,000, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. All candidates receive equity (stock options) and access to a comprehensive benefits offering. The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for candidates across all US locations. Work location, skills, experience, and any relevant education or training determine the compensation awarded to the candidate.
