We’re transforming Atlassian and data is at the heart of that. Core Data platform is responsible for low latency, cost efficient compliant cloud storage and data processing capabilities at scale for services that power our products. Think of Data Abstraction, Streaming, Transformation, Replication, Governance and GraphAPIs.
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Leader to lead a set of teams in our growing Core Data Platform organization. You will bring a wealth of experience in managing teams and success in delivering highly technical multi-quarter roadmaps. You will also need to be fairly comfortable with ambiguity and possess tools to work through ambiguity, craft strategy and drive execution. You will be able to work with your team to define architectural/organizational future states that we can scale to in years 2 and 3. We’ll need to make balanced calls that align with our forward-looking vision and current business & technology critical asks.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of experience developing large scale distributed systems.
- 8+ years of experience managing software development teams driving large projects with complex dependencies and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience (2+ years) leading teams running data infrastructure or data services at scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of cross-group/cross-discipline collaboration.
- Experience managing managers and a track record of scaling organizations with over 50 engineers
- You will have strong empathy and a bias for action.
- Experience working with and leading teams across geographies.
- You will demonstrate defining and communicating a long-term technical vision and inspiring your team around a shared vision for success.
- You will be able to build a deep understanding of both business and engineering metrics and drive a culture of reliability, security and productivity.
- You will champion developer productivity and empower engineers to invest in the right tooling at the right time.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members.
- You will design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources You will be the champion for the "Atlassian values"
- Quick learner who thrives in an ambiguous environment.
At Atlassian, we tie our base pay ranges to role and level. In the United States, that means your base pay ranges will fall into one of three geographic pay zones depending on your location. Our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $217,500 - $333,500
Zone B: $195,700 - $300,200
Zone C: $180,500 - $276,900
Within each range, base pay is ultimately determined based on your skills, expertise, and experience. This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and/or equity.
