You will help with the design of HVAC systems for commercial and educational facilities including load calculations, air-unit and chiller equipment selections, ductwork, pump and pipe sizing and layout. You would also be responsible for QA/QC construction documents, provide design ideas and solutions, and train or mentor other Designers, Operators or Engineers.
Your Impact:
- Develop and modify Revit models of plumbing and HVAC systems and components according to established standards.
- Review Revit modeling techniques, based on input from the engineering team and project managers.
- Manage the execution of the design for Revit models and AutoCAD documents for multiple projects.
- Oversee equipment schedules, making changes and adjustments as necessary with input from the engineering team as required.
- Use Revit to manage the design for interferences with other building elements and resolve conflicts with other team members.
- Interpret consultant design documents and design the necessary HVAC system.
- Utilize knowledge of design techniques and principals to mentor and train other designers and engineers involved in the production of plans, sections diagrams, equipment schedules, and drawings.
- Organize detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
- Produce coordinated floor plans, riser diagrams, and isometrics for complex HVAC systems.
- Monitor installation of equipment and systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety codes.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 4 or more years of work experience with an engineering consultant.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering technology degree.
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Physical ability and willingness to conduct site inspections and fieldwork, i.e., climb ladders, walk on roofs, etc.
- Ability to self-assess and command a high level of accuracy.
