The Billing team at GEICO oversees the tools, infrastructure, data, reporting, analytics, and services essential for delivering seamless billing experiences to internal users, end customers, and partners. Our billing platform functions as the backbone for managing financial transactions and customer interactions, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction while supporting strategic growth and ensuring compliance.
We are looking for an engineering leader to build the team and drive the technical vision and deliver an end-to-end Billing Platform. This platform includes a comprehensive array of components such as a core billing engine, invoicing system, commissions management, collections, payment processing, CRM integration, subscription management, credit control and dunning management, along with reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will be someone that has built large scale distributed systems, is empathetic, excels at building strong relationships, and collaborates effectively with other GEICO teams.
Work with a team of talented engineers, product managers and designers to deliver an end-to-end Billing Platform.
Collaborate with leaders across GEICO to design and drive the vision for Billing Platform.
Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with the recruiting team.
Develop engineers on the team, helping them grow and advance in their careers
Manage processes to enable your team to do the best work and interface effectively with the rest of GEICO.
Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of GEICO’s engineering management team
We are looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
You have 8+ years of professional experience, and at least 2 years of engineering management experience, with a track record of leading high performing engineering teams.
You have been responsible for delivering great products that work end-to-end and managed frontend and backend engineers.
You enjoy working closely with customers.
You work very well cross-functionally and are comfortable making hard decisions and trade-offs.
You have a strong technical sense and think rigorously about architecture and product decisions.
You thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
You have successfully recruited great people to your team.
You enjoy developing and mentoring engineers and engineering leaders
Experience in the financial technology sector, with a focus on billing, payments, subscription management, and financial reporting.
Expertise with a wide range of technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, or their equivalents.
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience

Annual Salary
$130,000.00 - $260,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
