Requirements
  • A diploma in Business Administration or a related field is required.
  • Three years of experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ACCPAC software is an asset.
  • The candidate must be able and willing to train on the job.
  • A clear understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills are required.
  • Certified First Aid and CPR is required, or the candidate must be willing to obtain it.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized administrative, accounting, and financial services, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements, and other financial statements using the ACCPAC system.
  • Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, and cheque requisitions.
  • Maintain employee attendance, leave, and overtime records to calculate pay and benefit entitlements.
  • Prepare and verify employee statements of earnings showing gross and net salaries and deductions, including taxes, insurance, and pension plans.
  • Prepare employee and benefit payments by electronic transfer or cheque.
  • Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for benefits administration.
  • Process Medical Transportation Record System payments for bills and invoices related to meals and accommodations.
  • Facilitate financial reporting and analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Maintain month-end and year-end accounting cycles and financial records to ensure accountability for expenditures and revenues.
