- A minimum of 5 years of current mechanical inspection experience within the last 10 years is required.
- Recent experience must include inspecting mechanical and structural assemblies, machined parts, sheet metal parts, castings, and forgings.
- Recent experience performing First Article Inspections to the AS9102 standard is required.
- Recent experience must be related to the aerospace industry.
- Working understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5, blueprint reading, specifications, and purchase orders is required.
- Expertise using general inspection hand tools, including calipers, go-no-go gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, height gauges, and micrometers, is required.
- The candidate must be computer savvy and own a laptop and cell phone for the assignment.
- The candidate must be comfortable working as an independent contractor under a 1099 arrangement.
- Travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and subassemblies.
- Inspect parts against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards, and specifications.
- Report inspection-result information through a web application.
