Requirements
  • A doctoral degree in Anatomy or another terminal field, specifically a Ph.D., Ed.D., D.O., or M.D., or a master's degree in Anatomy with two years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience with human donor dissection is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to gain proficiency in ExamSoft, iClicker, online learning management systems, Canvas, Poll Everywhere, and Zoom.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to relevant rules and regulations, including FERPA and HIPAA.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team without direct supervision.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a laboratory setting, sit and stand extensively, use computers, task trainers, and simulators extensively, and lift 5–10 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a content expert and teach Clinical Anatomy and Embryology and Neuroanatomy courses to osteopathic medical students at the Harlem campus.
  • Support the department’s teaching mission and foster an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
  • Participate in faculty development, campus committee membership and leadership, curricular development, applicant interviews, and student advising as assigned.
  • Perform independent research and scholarly activity and mentor student research activities.
  • Contribute to the University’s academic mission through professional service at the campus and University levels and in professional organizations.
  • Teach additional Clinical Anatomy and Embryology and Neuroanatomy courses for the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Biological and Physical Sciences program when available.
  • Travel to approved professional academic conferences and periodically travel for conferences.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with plastinated specimens and virtual anatomy resources.
