Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Technology/Environmental Management/Archaeology/Anthropology/Biology/Wildlife or an equivalent subject
  • CEP certification is required
  • Minimum of fourteen years of related experience
  • Minimum of at least ten years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization
  • Proficiency in current industry software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Responsibilities
  • Leads large field efforts supporting air/noise/wetlands/archeology/historic infrastructure/asbestos & lead abatement/hazardous material categorization & disposal
  • Ensures that the team has tracked necessary equipment, reviewed and logged calibration requirements, and assist with making sure crews have safety plans and files daily logs
  • Manage the survey of areas affected by upcoming construction projects to identify and quantify hazardous materials impacted by the project and develop/review abatement /remediation designs
  • Manage environmental reviews of projects to ensure compliance with NEPA/SEQRA regulations
  • Manage staff responsible for overseeing the abatement of asbestos-containing materials and disturbance of lead-containing materials
  • Manage staff responsible for conducting noise and vibration measurements in response to noise complaints and confirming if equipment performs according to specifications
  • Manage staff responsible for environmental sustainability initiatives and maintenance of ISO 14001 certification
  • Serve as Project Manager for Indefinite Quantities Consultant/Contractor Contracts to support Environmental Services staff
  • Leads staffing and resource allocation for program/project needs
  • Applies MTA C&D quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project document management
  • Tracks reports and help drive deliverable schedules
  • Leads in preparing portions of reports and permit documents
  • Works with GIS support to communicate any updates
Desired Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Technology/Environmental Management/Archaeology/Anthropology/Biology/Wildlife or related field is preferred
  • Experience in Historic Preservation and Cultural, Environmental Resources, Asbestos, Lead, and Hazardous Materials fields
  • Alternate Delivery experience preferred
  • Experience leading and managing designers, contractors, subcontractors, and/or vendors
  • CEP certification as a desirable credential (note: but the data says CEP is required)
