Requirements
  • At least one year of relevant United States patent prosecution experience; foreign experience is a plus.
  • Experience with United States Patent and Trademark Office patent systems and online intellectual-property databases, including Patent Center, Assignment Center, PAIR, EFS-Web, ePCT, Patentscope, and Espacenet.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure while remaining self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively.
  • Availability to work overtime as required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, file, and report provisional, non-provisional, divisional, continuation, and national-stage applications.
  • Prepare, file, and report United States Patent and Trademark Office documents, including office-action responses, amendments, formalities, inventorship corrections, petitions, issue fees, and Information Disclosure Statements.
  • Manage patent prosecution matters from filing through issuance.
  • Maintain the secondary docket, track deadlines, and work closely with patent practitioners to meet deadlines.
  • Understand and consistently adhere to client-specific guidelines.
  • Maintain working knowledge of patent rules and procedures.
  • Assist with other assigned duties and special projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Foreign patent prosecution experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate.
