Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar leadership role in a healthcare or institutional setting.
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary restrictions, and food safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and cost control.
  • High school diploma.
  • Certified Dietary Manager Certification, or the ability to achieve it within the first six months of employment.
  • Five to seven years of experience as an Executive Chef and Dietary Manager.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food service operations and standards and procedures for safe food preparation and storage.
  • Ability to organize staff work schedules and carry out inventory management.
  • Ability to operate a cash register.
  • Ability to perform heavy work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to the stated physical-force limits.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers, see, communicate, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk, stand or sit, perform repetitive motion, reach, and detect or distinguish tastes and smells.
  • Ability to work with or around fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical, chemical, electrical, explosive, and burn hazards.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen operations in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement nutritious menus tailored to patients' and staff members' dietary needs.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain inventory control, order supplies, and manage food costs.
  • Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and safety protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and dietitians to meet specific dietary requirements.
  • Monitor quality standards and pursue menu innovation and improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to food safety, inventory, and compliance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
  • Associate degree in culinary arts.
  • Prior Chef or Dietary Manager experience in a hospital setting.
