Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Must be able to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate on multiple-frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and reliable, prompt attendance.
  • The role requires full-time availability, although weekly hours are not guaranteed to total 40 and may fluctuate according to business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Observe team performance, provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize strong guest experience moments.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve performance, align the team on execution, celebrate wins, and drive results.
  • Model, train, and coach service expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Lead the fulfillment team and drive fulfillment goals while supporting sales growth and total store profitability.
  • Use workload planning tools to ensure scheduled work is completed and orders are fulfilled to delivery, freshness, and service standards.
  • Review fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop plans to resolve them.
  • Create daily plans for the team with direction from the direct leader.
  • Lead pickup and ship-from-store workload to enable efficient delivery to guests.
  • Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and support the direct leader with onboarding.
  • Establish goals around quality, accuracy, and timeliness with the direct leader, hold team members accountable, and close training gaps through coaching conversations.
  • Ensure the team follows food safety guidelines and selects fresh food items for guests.
  • Ensure supplies are ordered timely and stocked, partnering with the direct leader on ordering.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes when serving as a key carrier, if applicable.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leader-on-duty responsibilities during assigned shifts based on store needs.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches and creating equitable experiences.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, and hold the team accountable to these standards.
  • Lead safety culture by modeling safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, responding to incidents, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application as directed by best practices.
  • Lead execution of onboarding and learning best practices and help close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team interactions.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services such as backup cashier, order pickup, and Drive Up while maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.

  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
