Requirements
  • A PhD and 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of data mining algorithms, including machine learning techniques.
  • Scientific insight and a statistics background in cancer research, biology, and bioinformatics.
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing analysis workflows.
  • Strong proficiency with one or more programming languages, such as R and Python.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead complex multi-omic analyses, including genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data, to identify biomarkers of therapeutic resistance and generate patient-specific insights.
  • Develop and integrate multimodal omics datasets for advanced computational modeling and translational research.
  • Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, bioinformaticians, and research partners nationally and internationally on multidisciplinary research initiatives.
  • Provide scientific and programmatic leadership by establishing program structure, defining priorities, assessing needs, and recommending new capabilities, technologies, and processes.
  • Define and oversee program goals, resources, milestones, deliverables, and services.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, implement improvements, conduct complex analyses, develop recommendations, and present program outcomes and strategic priorities to University leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and delivery of complex, data-driven research initiatives and computational strategies.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement best practices, emerging technologies, analytical methodologies, and infrastructure to advance research objectives and ensure scientific rigor, reproducibility, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide expert recommendations regarding research protocols, computational resources, data infrastructure, software platforms, and technology investments, including prioritization and allocation of program resources and expenditures.
  • Establish and maintain program standards, governance, workflows, and change-management policies, and ensure consistent adherence across research activities.
  • Oversee comprehensive technical, operational, and research documentation supporting program continuity, compliance, collaboration, and long-term growth.
  • Lead and develop strategic collaborations across multidisciplinary teams and serve as a scientific and programmatic liaison with faculty, clinicians, researchers, institutional leadership, and external partners.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships that advance research priorities, facilitate knowledge and data sharing, align resources and expertise, and support complex, multi-institutional research initiatives.
  • Provide strategic oversight and management of program resources, including personnel, research and office space, computational infrastructure, software, equipment, supplies, and other technical resources.
  • Develop resource allocation strategies and assign staff and technical capabilities across multiple research initiatives based on program priorities, project complexity, timelines, and operational needs.
  • Identify current and future staffing and infrastructure requirements to support program growth and sustainability.
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, mentorship, performance management, and professional development of staff.
  • Ensure resources are utilized effectively and efficiently to support research objectives, program deliverables, and institutional priorities.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the development, implementation, and administration of internship and trainee programs.
  • Define internship and trainee program structure, learning objectives, recruitment and selection processes, onboarding, mentorship, and performance expectations.
  • Coordinate with faculty, staff, and institutional partners to ensure meaningful research experiences, appropriate supervision, and alignment with scientific, educational, and workforce development goals.
  • Evaluate internship and trainee program effectiveness and identify opportunities for continued growth and improvement.
