Senior Software Engineer-Full Stack

Symbolab.com is on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Fullstack Engineer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and services across both frontend and backend technologies.

Responsibilities

• Fullstack Development: Design and implement both the frontend and backend components of our web applications, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
• Frontend Development: Build intuitive, responsive, and visually appealing user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (mostly Vue.js) and related frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, TypeScript).
• Backend Development: Develop and maintain server-side applications and APIs using backend technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Nuxt, NodeJS
• Database: manage database entries, ensuring data consistency and performance for MongoDB database.
• API Integration: Build and integrate third-party services and RESTful APIs into the application, ensuring robust and reliable connections.
• Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, maintainable code and implement unit and integration tests to ensure the highest quality and reliability of software.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to define project requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver solutions that meet both user needs and business objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry best practices, contributing to the ongoing evolution of the development process and tech stack.
• DevOps/CI/CD: Participate in setting up and managing continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, optimizing build and release processes.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Vue.js - required
• Proficiency in backend technologies such as Java - required
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB - required
• Experience with version control systems, primarily Git.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration with third-party services.
• Familiarity with authentication protocols (JWT, OAuth) and security best practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and evolving business needs.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana).
• Experience with serverless architectures or microservices is a plus.

The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed.
