Your impact.
As the Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, overseeing critical accounting functions related to revenue recognition, payroll processing, and tax compliance. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with specialized experience in these areas, who can contribute to our fast-paced and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) and accurate reporting of revenue streams
- Oversee payroll processing, including payroll tax calculations, deductions, and filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Lead the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze contracts and agreements, identifying revenue recognition implications and providing guidance as needed
- Conduct regular reviews of revenue, payroll, and tax processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Oversee reconciliation of employee reimbursement platform and billing processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings, providing support and documentation as required
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and tax regulations, ensuring compliance and proactively addressing any potential impacts on the business
- Lead and mentor select team members, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities
Your experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on revenue recognition, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, with the ability to apply principles to complex transactions
- Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance, including payroll tax calculations and filings
- Proficiency in accounting and related software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Vertex, BambooHR, Salesforce) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders

Base Compensation Range for Job Level: $100,000-120,000 Annually
The cash compensation above includes base salary only. Certain roles are eligible for additional cash incentives such as commission, annual bonus targets, overtime pay or other variable incentives.

This strategy is based on several factors unique to each individual, including: 1) the skills, experience and qualifications of the individual; 2) the responsibilities and demands of the role; 3) analysis of external market data; and 4) company budget and financial performance.
HealthJoy is a remote-first employer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
