Requirements
  • A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required, with structural coursework required for structural engineering positions.
  • At least 6 years of structural engineering experience is required.
  • Experience working in an engineering consulting, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, or industrial project environment.
  • Knowledge and application of the International Building Code and associated standards, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Institute of Steel Construction, and American Concrete Institute standards.
  • Expertise with structural analysis software, including operating the software and interpreting results.
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific methods, practices, and techniques required to engineer, design, and construct process and manufacturing projects.
  • Ability to lead small to large teams to deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to deliver convincing presentations of Hargrove Engineers & Constructors services.
  • Working knowledge of STAAD Pro, RISA, RAM Structural System, SAP2000, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Virtual team skills and cross-divisional relationships, with the ability to provide interoffice execution leadership and support.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Develop conceptual layouts, engineering studies, and cost estimates.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for steel structures, concrete foundations, equipment supports, pipe racks, buildings, platforms, and industrial infrastructure.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, sketches, and construction documents.
  • Review calculations, drawings, and designs prepared by other engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with the International Building Code, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Institute of Steel Construction, American Concrete Institute, and applicable client standards.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, piping, electrical, process, and project management teams throughout project execution.
  • Support procurement activities through scopes of work, specifications, bid packages, and technical evaluations.
  • Review vendor drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction submittals.
  • Provide field support, site investigations, tie-in verification, and construction assistance.
  • Identify project risks, scope changes, and potential schedule impacts.
  • Lead structural engineering teams while managing scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and designers.
  • Support interoffice collaboration and work-sharing initiatives to optimize project delivery.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, chemical, process, life sciences, power, or heavy industrial facilities.
