What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Lead the Studio Engineering team, setting the direction for vehicle design and engineering excellence. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement a holistic design strategy that integrates aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability, aligning with our brand’s ethos and market demands.
• Recruit, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of engineers and designers. Support their professional growth and encourage creative problem-solving.
• Collaborate closely with other departments such as R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and sales to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into the overall product development process.
• Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation to prototype creation and validation, ensuring that design objectives are met within set timelines and budget constraints.
• Drive innovation in electric vehicle design, materials, and technologies, staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Ensure that all vehicles meet and exceed quality, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
• Manage and allocate resources efficiently to meet project and departmental goals while staying within budget.
• Communicate progress and updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders, providing clear insights into project timelines, risks, and opportunities.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based in the Detroit, MI vicinity. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in studio engineering in the automotive or transportation industry.
• Demonstrated, progressive experience building and leading digital modeling teams with the ability to inspire, motivate, promote collaboration, and drive innovation.
• Demonstrated success in bringing innovative vehicle concepts to market.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
• Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary = $200,000-$230,000
